They fuse materials that fit with South African climate with a European silhouette.

They make casual wear look smart and are ridding the Cape streets of baggy rubbish.

They are on trend and also exclusive as they don't make their stock in bulk.

Kanye West

I know this guy has some true jack-ass moments but no man dresses as awesome as Kanye. It's a great mixture of urban and chic and yes, that attitude helps. Recently found out he has a stylist which is a bit of a knock to my system but at the end of the day, no one can make Kanye do what he won't do!

Reasons I'm obsessed with Kanye West:

His music is genius! Truly some of the best songs were performed, written or produced by Kanye

He dresses like he's in a photo shoot all the time! I never see him looking less than fresh

He is a trendsetter. He knows what's hot or what's going to be big in the next season and rocks it even if there might be criticism.

He mixes feminine items of clothing and makes them look masculine and hip hop.

He pioneered the hip hop artists embracing fashion movement

Leopard Print

LEOPARD PRINT!

I love love LOVE leopard print! I own leggings and a head scarf in this print. I'm looking for a coat as well (if you find it let me know!) And NO I will not be wearing them all at the same time at all! Less is more in this case for sure.

Reasons why I'm obsessed with leopard print:

Everyone looks exotic when they subtly embrace leopard print. Too much and it's just cheap.

It can make any outfit seem even just a little more fashionable and more expensive. Again, exercise restraint!

It gives women a 'wild thing' edge that adds sexiness to the wearer... and with that a confidence.

It's perfect in any season and can be dressed up or down.

Vogue Japan

I will do another post for Vogue in general but I have to give a special mention to Vogue Japan, otherwise known as Vogue Nippon.

I'm completely and utterly obsessed with this magazine and whilst I can mostly only read it online, I do get a few copies a year but I really would like to find someone willing to import them to SA or a way I can ship them here. I would do that!

Reasons I'm obsessed with Vogue Japan:

The fashion is flamboyant and completely unapologetic.

Japanese fashion is truly the dopest

Japenese pop culture is always on point and this urban eastern cool fusion is showcased in the magazine.

Anna Dello Russo is the Editor at Large and she is the ultimate free spirit (sometimes comes off as weird) and she's brave in her fashion choices. she's another obsession of mine.

Vogue Japan is tres importante in trendsetting and is not afraid to be controversial: Gaga meat dress cover anyone?

Biggest obsession of all!

As this blog grows, you will see that most of the items I'm obsessed with have strong Grace Jones influences. This is why I've decided my first post is only befitting of the ultimate Diva, Miss Jones herself. Who better to kick off this inspirational journey.

Grace Jones (for those of you who don't know - shame on you!) is a Jamaican-American singer, actress and model and former muse of the great Andy Warhol (he's next)

I'm obsessed with Grace for a number of reasons:

She's seemingly unaware of how totally cool she is!

She'd made totally androgynous, sexy.

She's bold, adventurous, brave and has great strength and grace [see what I did there ;) ]

She was Andy Warhol's muse- how many people can say this?

She's the total anti-supermodel but a super-model nonetheless

She's is ageing very gracefully (I can't escape this word)

Her photographs and videos are enigmatic in a very magnetic way.
